SUSTAINABILITY & CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Our ongoing Journey

Nobody is perfect, and we aren’t either. But we try to get better with every collection we make. Sustainability has been an ongoing journey for STIEGLITZ since 2020, learning, evolving, and striving to do better with each day. We acknowle the shared responsibility towards the planet we live on and the people who make and wear our garments because we believe in the empowerment of women, and preserving natural and cultural heritage.

FOUR PILLARS - PEOPLE, PLANET, PRODUCT, PROSPERITY

We focus on four key areas where we aim to make a positive impact: People, Planet, Product, and Prosperity. In the following sections, you can explore our goals and achievements, both in reducing our negative impact and creating positive change for people, the planet, our products, and our prosperity.

The map shows the countries in which our collections were made in 2021 & 2022. We produced the SS21, AW21, SS22, and AW22 collections during this period. The percentages below the country names mark the proportion of production Stieglitz had in a given country.

We work with 11 manufacturers, from 6 different countries. 90% of our garments are produced in Greece, North Macedonia and Turkey, which makes it possible for us to work closely together with these factories. sustainability filters

To support your search we have introduced three new filters based on our impact topics; organic cotton, water preservation and microplastics. These filters were created with the purpose of educating you and our fellow visitors on the site. Hopefully this will help you navigate our website with more ease.

TRY FILTERS

MICROPLASTICS

Together with Guppyfriends we would like to raise awareness of fossil fuel-based, synthetic materials such as polyamide, polyester, nylon, acrylic or polyacryl. When washing these garments, countless micriplastic particles end up in our water management system which are particularly difficult to filter out.

CIRCULAR FASHION

Last season (AW22) we started a new project together with Because We Carry. A non-profit organisation working in Greece, providing aid and support to women and children arriving from war torn countries. The organisation has connected us to a team of skilful women, who arrived to Greece as Syrian refugees. The female lead atelier will help us to upcycle our dead stock garments to create something new and beautiful. All profits of this collaboration will be donated to Because We Carry and the garment workers involved in this project.

Stay tuned for more!

Saheli Women

’Saheli’, is the Hindi word for ‘female friend’. As female creatives, we at STIEGLITZ saw our shared passion in female empowerment, fashion, and creation. With the help of our talented female friends at Saheli Women, we sourced traditionally block-printed fabrics from India, and created a dream together for SS21 and SS22 collections.
